In each wave the children are taught between 15 and 33 Grapheme Phoneme Correspondences
In each wave the children are taught to read and write a number of FISHY WORDS (a non decodable common exception word)
In each wave the children are taught to read and write a number of SEE and SAY words (fully decodable words that must be read with speed to support reading fluency)
In each wave the children are taught explicit reading skills and behaviours
In each wave the children learn mnemonic's to reinforce handwriting patterns
